Level 2 Award for working as a Door Supervisor within the Private Sector

Who is this for?

This qualification is intended for learners who work or want to work as Door Supervisors in the Private Security Industry and require an SIA Licence to Practice. This qualification will support a role in the workplace.

Pre-Requisites:

This qualification is aimed at learners 18 years and over who are able to undertake the responsibilities of a Door Supervisor.

Due to the nature of the role of a Door Supervisor, in the course of their work it is likely they will be required to make calls to the emergency services or need to communicate to resolve conflict. It is therefore essential that Door Supervisors are able to communicate effectively.

All assessment must be conducted in the medium of English and/or Welsh as appropriate. Centres must ensure that learners have sufficient language skills before putting the learners forward for assessment.

Learners should be able to work at level 1 and above. In addition, they must be able to meet the training provider set health and physical requirements for the Physical Intervention Skills within the Private Security Industry unit (please discuss with your training provider prior to commencement on this qualification)

Learners will need to show that they hold a current and valid First Aid or Emergency First Aid certificate* that meets the requirements of the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981. It is an SIA requirement that training centres must confirm that each learner is sufficiently qualified in First Aid or Emergency First Aid.

Door Supervisor Top Up

Who is this for?

This qualification is intended for learners who already hold an SIA Door Supervisor licence and are required to complete the ‘Top up’ training prior to re-licencing effective from 1st October 2021. This qualification is available from 1st April 2021 provide lead in time to this change.

Pre-Requisites:

This qualification is aimed at learners 18 years and over who are able to undertake the responsibilities of a Door Supervisor.

Learners must hold an existing SIA Door Supervisor licence or have completed their initial training no less than 3 years prior to attending this course

Who is this for?

This qualification will provide the skills, knowledge and understanding necessary for those working, or interested in working, as a Security Officer within the Private Security Industry and require an SIA Licence to Practice. The qualification will support a role in the workplace.

This qualification is aimed at learners 18 years and over who are able to undertake the responsibilities of a Security Officer.

Who is this for? This qualification is for those working in customer and service user facing roles, and may have to deal with frustrated and angry people.

Pre-Requisites: This qualification is available to those over 16 years. Learners should have a sufficient command of English, in order to complete the assessments.

Level 2 Award in Vehicle Searching

Who is this for? This qualification is aimed at security staff involved with the process and operational requirements for searching vehicles when entering or leaving a designated area. Industry best practice, safety and methodology are instructed and practiced as part of this qualification to provide a robust working knowledge and skills required to perform effective vehicle searching.

Senior leaders from global and local security providers have been engaged throughout the development of this qualification to ensure the necessary requirements for a vehicle searching have been addressed and exceeded to result in a qualification which has direct meaning an purpose for the industry.

Pre-Requisites: This qualification is available to those over 18 years. Candidates should be at least a level 2 numeracy and literacy or equivalent

 

Level 2 Preventing Violence in the Workplace

Who is this for? This qualification is for those working in environments where they are likely to have to deal with agressive individuals. Examlples may include those working in service industries or retail. The qualification is not for those that are likely to have to intervene in violent situations.

Pre-Requisites: This qualification is available to those over 16 years. Candidates should be at least a level 1 numeracy and literacy or equivalent
